Is a Private Photo Safari the Best Way to See the Kruger National Park?

Yes—if your goal is professional-grade imagery.

A standard game drive prioritises "seeing" the Big 5, but a B1 Photo Safaris prioritises the
Golden Hour, vehicle positioning for clean backgrounds, and predicting animal behaviour.

By operating out of Skukuza and utilising custom-modified vehicles with Gimpro Gimbals, we ensure you aren't just a passenger, but a photographer in the right place at the right time.

How to Get Professional Wildlife Photos
in Kruger National Park

Successful wildlife photography in the bush isn't luck; it’s a combination of local "bush lore" and technical precision. We focus on the core elements that separate a snapshot from a portfolio piece:

  • Anticipating Animal Behaviour:
We don't just watch a leopard; we read the flick of its tail to anticipate the jump.

  • The Sabie River Advantage:
Operating near the Sabie and Olifants Rivers, we track movement patterns between water sources and thick cover.

  • Mastering the Light:
We plan our routes based on the sun’s trajectory, ensuring your subjects are front-lit or dramatically backlit for that iconic "rim light" effect.

Why Two Guides Are Better Than One: The B1 Photo Safari Workshop on Wheels

Most safari companies provide a driver.
We provide a practical workshop on wheels

As the Bekker Brothers, we offer a 2-on-1 guiding experience:
Bernhard & Hennie Bekker

  1. The Spotter/Naturalist: Tracking the "Big 7" (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Rhino, Buffalo, Cheetah, and Wild Dog) and positioning the vehicle.

  2. The Photographic Tutor: Helping you dial in your Eye-Tracking AF, managing your Exposure Compensation for harsh African sun, remembering to use back button focus, doing test shots in changing light conditions, preparing and staying focused on the animal's next move and ensuring you’re shooting in RAW for maximum post-processing latitude.
