This very unique and stylish airport is located inside Kruger national Park only 5 minutes from Skukuza Main Camp. The Airport does have a Avis rental car office to hire a vehicle but it must be arrange prior to your arrival at the airport.
With inbound flights directly from Johannesburg and Capetown daily you can fly in with the early flight on day of your Overnight Safari / Tour with Private Kruger Safaris and depart on the late flight on day of departure this ensures the maximum time spend in the African Bush on safari. Johannesburg to Skukuza is only a 55 minute flight.
The same entrance / conservation fee is payable as you would enter the Kruger National Park at any of it's entry gates
The airport is managed by the Skukuza Airport Management Company, in conjunction with SANParks, in terms of a 10 year Public Private Partnership agreement.
Airlink operates daily scheduled flights between Johannesburg and Cape Town to Skukuza Airport. The return of scheduled air services to Skukuza Airport on 2 June 2014 was momentous in the context of South African tourism as this has allowed all tourism stakeholders and tourists the ability to gain direct access to a variety of important and globally renowned wildlife destinations within the Kruger National Park and nearby Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve, thereby providing a far more integrated and effective leisure travel product to the global market.
